may be addicted to commonly-prescribed painkillers (i.e., opioid-based such as oxycodone, morphine, meperidine and acetaminophen-codeine), Number of people in Ontario who regularly use illegal opioids, most of which are diverted from the medical system. Symptoms of opioid dependence observed by Ontario physicians - % reported using more than intended, needing a higher dose to obtain the same effect, being unsuccessful at cutting back, experiencing withdrawal when not taking any medication, and compulsive use despite harm, % of physicians often or occasionally receiving requests for additional opioid prescriptions because their patients have lost their prescriptions or need early refills. Although methadone is the most commonly prescribed drug substitution therapy for those who are dependent on opioids, % of Ontario physicians are somewhat concerned with the potential for misuse, overdose, and the possibility of combining it with other illicit opioids. |

(Schizophrenia, Anorexia, Bulimia, Depression, Autism, Drug addiction, Alcoholism, Panic and anxiety attacks, Gambling addiction, Burn out, Smoking) % funding for mental health issues should be on par with funding for physical health issues, % believe some things that are described as mental illness give people an excuse for poor behaviour and personal failings, % would be fearful being around someone who has a serious mental illness. Likelihood of interacting with people who have a mental illness or an addiction, Likelihood of telling friends, co-workers about Cancer, Diabetes or Mental Illness in the family.
